Founder and floral designer Christina Hartman lives at 3,800 feet elevation on the slopes of Haleakala, Maui where she has been cultivating specialty cut flowers for her boutique floral design studio, Wildheart. Her floral path began over a decade ago with her fascination with Ikebana—the Japanese art of flower arranging—evident in her work naturalistic approach to flowers. Her work has appeared in highly-personalized weddings, intimate dinner parties, editorial photo shoots and culinary gatherings in Hawai'i. Gathering inspiration from many places, she describes her garden as the greatest insight into the symbiotic way in which plants grow and aims to translate that into her work. She believes an arrangement should appear freshly gathered and found rather forced or fussy.
